UI/Web Designer
Description
SemanticBits is seeking a talented UI/Web Designer with at least four (4) years of experience in developing web applications. BS in Fine Arts or related field is required.
Responsibilities
-
Designing visually elegant web-based applications that adhere to usability principles
-
Leading user/design specification meetings and devising UI mockups for review by team members and customers
-
Collaborating with technical teams to ensure that web designs and applications meet both client and end user needs
-
Developing fully documented designs of interactive web based applications that can be easily interpreted and implemented by experienced software developers
-
Designing and building web 2.0 style web pages and applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver.

Adhering to existing design standards, including Section 508.
Technical Skills
The ideal candidate would have majority of the following skills:

Expertise in employing an user-centered approach and have an excellent track record designing web-based applications UI

Experience in conducting task analysis, user analysis and usability testing

Expertise in Section 508 compliance

Expertise in CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver
General Skills

Strong problem solving skills with an aptitude for learning and implementing emerging technologies.

Good inter-personal, oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment as well as independently

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment while meeting deadlines

Willingness to work extended hours, if necessary, to complete projects according to schedule

Job Location
This is a full-time position at our office in Herndon, Virginia.
