Senior Systems Analyst
SemanticBits, LLC, which is based in Herndon VA, is primarily is engaged in software development projects in Bioinformatics and Clinical Informatics domain. Our core competencies include: Grid Computing using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA); Semantic Interoperability using Enterprise Metadata Repositories and Vocabularies; Scientific Application Development on open source Java and J2EE platform; Enterprise Architecture and Database Design and Implementation. SemanticBits is seeking a talented Systems Analyst with at least eight (8) years of experience in system analysis and design. BS in Computer Science or related field is required.
Job Position
The system analyst will be responsible for designing a federated metadata repository for health care and life sciences. domain The repository will utilize ISO 11179 ed. 3, ISO 21090, W3C Semantic Web, OMG Model Driven Architecture (MDA), and RM-ODP (a.k.a. ITU-T Rec. X.901-X.904 or ISO/IEC 10746) standards.

Technical Skills
The ideal candidate would have majority of the following skills:- Experience in designing enterprise metadata repositories
- Familiarity with semantic web technologies
- Expertise in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) using UML with significant experience in developing various UML artifacts such as Use Case, Activity, State and Class diagrams.
- Experience in Rational Unified Process (RUP) and agile software development principles
- Good knowledge of service oriented architecture (SOA)
- Familiarity with designing enterprise systems using components such as Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Business Rules Engines, Workflow Engines, Schedulers
- Solid understanding of RDBMS concepts and modeling experience in Oracle, PostgreSQL and/or MySQL
