Semantic Architect
Job Position
The semantic architect will be responsible for designing a federated metadata repository for health care and life sciences. The repository will utilize ISO 11179 ed. 3, ISO 21090, W3C Semantic Web, OMG Model Driven Architecture (MDA), and RM-ODP (a.k.a. ITU-T Rec. X.901-X.904 or ISO/IEC 10746) standards.
Requirements

MS in Computer Science or equivalent commercial experience (10-15 years) in database design, UML modeling, metadata standards, knowledge representation, artificial intelligence, Semantic Web standards, OMG MDA, Object-oriented Analysis an Design (OOAD).

Demonstrable expertise in a majority of: SQL, RDF, SPARQL, OWL, SWRL, rules (logic, production), XSD, UML (XMI, MOF, profiles), E-R, ISO 11179, ISO 21090, RM-ODP, Ontology Definition Metamodel (ODM).

Evidence of activity/innovation in the field (papers, presentations, products, patents, membership in working groups, etc.).

Significant experience with most of the following technologies: Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF), RDF triplestores, DL reasoners, rule engines, Protégé.

Highly proficient in an object-oriented programming language (Java, C++, .Net).

Expertise in Web Application development, Java EE, Servlets, Web Services, Services Oriented Architecture (SOA), ReST, Linked Data

Familiarity with HL7 RIM, CDISC SDTM, or BRIDG is a plus.

Strong problem solving skills with an aptitude for learning and implementing emerging technologies.

Good inter-personal, oral and written communication skills.

Some experience in a technical leadership role.
Job Location
This is a full-time position at our office in Herndon, Virginia.
