Systems Workspaces

In recognition for his involvement in all aspects of caBIG, including the cross-cutting and domain workspaces, software development, mentoring, developing Silver Level review criteria, and invovement in all working groups, Patrick McConnel has been awarded an Embodying the Vision Award. As part of the caGrid 1.0 team, he is an adopter of the workflow developed and is responsible for reference implementation projects.

Patrick serves as a subject matter expert in the Vocabularies and Common Data Elements (VCDE) and Architecture workspaces, in addition to taking a leadership role in CDE standard reviews and the evaluation of Silver Level API criteria, Large Scale Harmonization of Models, default datatypes, and caBIG's adoption of external standards within these workspaces. Patrick serves as a liaison between the VCDE and the Architecture workspaces and the Architecture and Integrated Cancer Research (ICR) workspaces, and is a project manager for the Cancer Central Clinical Patient Registry (C3PR) 2.0 project in CTMS. He has also served as a developer and contributor in the ICR workspace, specifically working with RProteomics and Cancer Translational Research Informatics Platform (caTRIP) development efforts.
