Mentoring Award winners have demonstrated an in-depth knowledg and understanding of caBIG work and are effectively communicating with and assisting others in their area. Many have expertise in caBIG's compatibility guidelines and requirements. These awardees have displayed a proven ability to guide developers in implementing the compatibility requirements, including messaging interfaces, CDEs, vocabularies, and information models, necessary to achieve caBIG Silver Level compatibility. Other awardees contribute to their colleagues' activities within or across workspaces.

In recognition of excellence as an active Architecture mentor to a number of developmentn projects in caBIG, Patrick mcConnell has been awarded a Mentoring Award.
Patrick was instrumental in developing and finalizing the Silver Level review criteria used for reviewing APIs. Additionally, he has agreed to be part of a mentor guide group that is responsible for providing SME guidance and training to Architecture mentors to ensure that all development projects undergo mentoring and compatibility reviews in a timely and consistent manner.
